Allan H. Stokke

Allan H. Stokke is a partner in the firm of Stokke and Riddet, a firm specializing in criminal defense cases. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1965. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and then entered private practice in 1968. He has tried over 150 jury trials during his career including many high profile cases involving numerous political figures, corporate executives and high profile individuals. Mr. Stokke is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Criminal Law Specialist. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating given by attorney peers.

Mr. Stokke has been recognized in Best Lawyers of America every year since 1988, by Super Lawyers and Orange Coast Magazine and by numerous other publications as one of the finest criminal trial lawyers in California. In 1998, he received the "Criminal Defense Trial Lawyer of the Year" award given by the Orange County Trial Lawyer's Association. In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Marcus Kaufman Jurisprudence Award by the Anti-Defamation League.

Mr. Stokke has appeared as a legal commentator on CNN's Burden of Proof with Gretta Van Sustern, The O'Reilly Factor (Fow News) and "On the Record" with Gretta Van Sustern (Fow News).

Mr. Stokke served on the Orange County Bar Association Board of Directors. He also served as a member of the Board of Governors of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice from 1991 until 1994. He is currently a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an "invitation only" organization after having tried more than 50 jury trials, and the American Inns of Court (Master Bench Level). He served as an instructor for the College of Trial Advocacy and has also authored two college textbooks "Concepts of Criminal Law," Holbrook Press and "Evidence," Harcourt Brace, Jovanovich. He has been a featured speaker for California Trial Lawyers, statewide convention of Municipal Court Judges, Orange County Bar Association seminars, Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), Orange County Trial Lawyers and others. He was one of the Founders of Corporate National Bank in Santa Ana and served as Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Stokke has been involved in numerous philanthropic and volunteer organizations throughout his career. He is currently President of the Orange County Bar Foundation; he served on the Board of Directors of the All-American Boys Chorus from 2001-2005. He is a founding member of the Orange County Marathon which benefits 11 local childrens' charities. He also serves as an Elder for St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.

In his leisure time, Mr. Stokke enjoys traveling with his family, skiing, and scuba diving.
